Ron Paul Poll Numbers
Can Ron Paul heal America's indifference?
July 16, 2007
Most general public in the United States of America do not take part in an election. Many never registered to take part in an election, many others are registered but simply don’t cast their vote. In the last federal election, 59 percent of the registered the people in this country showed up to vote.
Of roughly two hundred and seven million registered people in this nation, only one hundred and twenty two million believed that it was essential enough to take some time out of their day to take part in an election for the president of the United States. Of these, about sixty two million selected George W. Bush and around fifty nine million chose for John Kerry.
About one million two hundred thousand citizens chose for someone other than the two. . This leaves around eighty five million registered supporters that did not take part in an election. Eighty five million citizens would have been sufficient for any of the candidates running; even those in any of the third parties who all acquired less than one percent, to win. Why did all these supporters decide not to show up.
The answer to the above query is, of course, complicated. Still, I am eager to bet that these voters were simply uninterested. Many of them most likely felt helpless. That’s because these people recognize that Democrats and Republicans are, already bought by corporations. They have no trust in the current system as the current system has been ruined.
But it is time to restore trust to our nation. It is time for us to regain our personal duty. It’s time for us to care once again.
